“She can laugh at the days to come.”
(Proverbs 31:25)
Are you looking for a word of encouragement?
Would you like to laugh at the days to come?
Then I’m so glad you’ve stopped by!
My goal is to offer you a smile and some hope as I share how Jesus is teaching me to “laugh at the days to come“and trust Him no matter the circumstance.
You may be less ordinary than I am, but I hope you will hang out here anyway.
Resume of a Very Ordinary Woman (Julie Holmquist)
Professional: More than thirty years of experience as a writer & editor of newspapers, magazines, and books. My husband and I once owned a small, weekly newspaper (do you remember what those things are?). In addition to reporting and editing, I had to clean the office bathroom. I no longer have to do that in my current book-editing gig.
Personal: Married to my husband, Jeff, for more than thirty years. I recently lost my engagement ring and broke my wedding ring. The ring wore out, but the marriage hasn’t! Jeff still loves me even though I leave things strewn about the house and keep losing the fingernail clippers. We have three adult children living in three different states (while we live in a fourth state). Now that they are living on their own and aren’t getting on my nerves anymore, I’d like them to come by for supper and a game night, but they are too far away. We adopted two of our kids from Russia when they were 10 and 11. Skipping the entire diaper stage was a bonus.
Spiritual: I learned about Jesus Christ as a child, but I didn’t let Him take charge of my life until I was 34 (more than 20 years ago). He tried to get my attention for many years, but I was a slow learner. If you read my blog, you’ll see that I’m still learning!
